DEER MEDICINE |
Music is a powerful ally in the healing journey. I believe that the body, mind and spirit are interconnected, and that often a spiritual problem is manifested as a physical or mental ailment. In Sound Healing we seek to engage every part of your being in the journey to wholeness.
My research and experience has shown that when we are in crisis, ill, or injured, our ability heal is significantly diminished. It is at times such as this that we can benefit from working with a healing practitioner as well as partnering with our physician to restore well being.
My approach facilitates strengthening the mind-body connection, which decreases stress, improves immune and neurological system functioning, decreases pain, and provides support to your innate healing abilities.
Yet, it is important to note that science, anthropology and religious traditions are quick to point out, however that "healing" is not always "curing."
In her work health and healing, Caroline Myss, Ph.D., writes "Healing and curing are not the same thing. A "cure" occurs when one has successfully controlled or abated the physical progression of an illness....healing on the other hand is an active and internal process aimed at releasing all negative patterns that prevent one's full emotional and spiritual recovery." Anatomy of Spirit, 1996.
The traditional western allopathic model expects the patient to be passive: treatments are given to the patient by the experts. My model of healing is active in that I offer the client an opportunity to fully participate in their healing journey by the process of intention and engaging in the sound healing journey.
Healing can occur in palpable ways such as: relief from symptoms, reduced anxiety and stress, or a general feeling of well-being or wholeness.
I seek, through music and sound, to stimulate your own body’s healing ability, to clear energy blockages, which then allows your body to accelerate to promote healing; because you are your own best healer!
