Susan E. Bloomfield began her musical career as a classical and church musician.  She received her Bachelor of Music Degree from Pacific Lutheran University and Master of Music degree from Western Washington University, but Susan has always been interested in how music has been used to heal. 

When Ms. Bloomfield began teaching private music lessons in 2001, she noticed she attracted "non-traditional" students: those who thought they had no musical talent or were told so as children by parents and teachers; and those with such ailments as generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD, heart problems, kidney failure, and Parkinson's disease.

Through personal exploration and formal training in the application of music and healing through the Open Ear Center on Bainbridge Island, WA, with Pat Moffitt Cook, Ph.D., Susan united her knowledge and musical talents and opened the Deer Medicine Sound Healing Studio in 2008. 

Through music and the creation of sound in combination with Susan's patient and gentle spirit, clients find the Deer Medicine Sound Healing Studio to be a place of refuge, healing and wholeness.
